Dr Frank Kagoro joined WWARN as an intern research physician working on the development of the latest artemisinin resistance maps for communication to the policy-makers of the South-East Asian region. His work is a continuation of his MSc thesis research which began in April 2017 and was carried out through a collaboration between the Mahidol Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit (MORU) and the WorldWide Antimalarial Resistance Network (part of IDDO). Frank graduated with an MSc in International Health and Tropical Medicine from the University of Oxford in 2017 and before coming to Oxford he had also completed a postgraduate diploma in Healthcare Management in Tropical Countries from Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH). He is a trained physician from Tanzania and a research scientist from Ifakara Health Institute with five years of experience in clinical care, clinical trials and public health research.
