Luis Felipe Reyes is a Critical Care physician with a PhD in Translational Science from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr Reyes is an internationally recognised expert in pneumonia, invasive pneumococcal disease, sepsis and antibiotic resistance.

Dr Reyes is part of the organising committee of the Global Initiative for MRSA pneumonia (GLIMP) and the Latin America Intensive Care Network (LIVEN). Moreover, Dr Reyes is the national research for several Multinational Research Projects in patients with COVID-19, including studies carried out by the WHO, ISARIC and ESICM.

Dr. Reyes is the Co-Chair of the ISARIC COVID-19 Critical Care analysis group. He is also an Associate Editor for the BMC Pulmonary Medicine and Junior Editor of the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. Dr Reyes is currently the head of the Department of infectious diseases and associate professor at the University of La Sabana, School of Medicine.

Finally, he is the intensive care unit's academic director at the Clinic of the Universidad de La Sabana and director of the research group: Translational Science in Infectious Diseases and Critical Care Medicine of the same University.
