Dr Gláucia Cota is a Medical Doctor and Public Health Researcher at Instituto René Rachou – Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (FIOCRUZ). She is dedicated to the development of diagnostic and therapeutic strategies to improve the lives of people with cutaneous (CL) and visceral leishmaniasis (VL). Dr Cota also leads the research group Clinical Studies and Public Policies in Infectious Diseases, and is the Medical Coordinator of the National Reference Laboratory on Tegumentar Leishmaniasis, Brazil. As a Public Health Researcher, she is dedicated to conducting clinical trials, development and validation of new diagnosis tests, and also literature systematic reviews, meta-analysis, cost-effectiveness analyses and therapeutic experimental studies on leishmaniasis fields.
