UAE ready to share Malaria treatment experience with all countries

WAM DUBAI, Jan. 24th, 2009: The UAE Ministry of Health is keen on sharing its preventive medicine experience with all other countries seeking help in combating Malaria, said the UAE Minister of Health Humaid Mohammed Al Qattami.

He said the Ministry provided all resources to the World Health Organization's teams to experience first-hand the UAE's active efforts to eradicate the disease in the Arabian Peninsula and other parts of the world.

The Minister's remarks came at a meeting with a delegation from WHO's Western Pacific Region.

For his part, Executive Director of the Health Policies at the Ministry Dr. Mahmoud Fikri said the visiting team made field tours to acquaint themselves with the Ministry's laboratories, early detection centres and mobile teams' efforts to detect and combat the carriers of the parasite which causes the sometimes fatal disease.
