Our first Scientific Symposium, in partnership with the Infectious Diseases Data Observatory (IDDO), is on Tuesday 18th September at 10.30am on the theme 'Data-sharing for global research good'. Paul Sondo, TDR Fellow, will present an update on WWARN's work to generate reliable evidence from IPD meta-analyses, using examples from our Molecular Scientific Group and research analyses lead by our West Africa Regional Centre. Elizabeth Allen, Senior Scientist in our Southern Africa Regional Hub, will present the WWARN Malaria Toolkit. Elizabeth will update participants on the new resources and tools available to malaria researchers and clinical trial managers. Have you seen the new toolkit resources?

On Thursday 20th September at 14:30,  Philippe Guérin will join Oumar Gaye and colleagues from The Global Health Network (TGHN) to present a 'Data-sharing workshop' that will include a presentation of WWARN's experience of gathering and analysing antimalarial drug resistance data. Philippe Guerin will focus on the management and ethical implications of sharing data. Oumar Gaye will present his experience of leading research collaborations in our West Africa Regional Centre. This workshop will be held in Auditorium 3.
