Boris-Enock Zinsou

Boris-Enock is a Junior Researcher in Epidemiology and Global Health. His academic background spans biomedical sciences, microbiology, virology, public health, epidemiology, and biostatistics. He has nearly ten years of laboratory and field experience in West Africa, including poliovirus surveillance at Institut Pasteur de Dakar, contributing to the COVID-19 response in Benin, and coordinating the molecular biology platform for the multicentre ASAAP antimalarial clinical trial.

A PhD candidate in public health (specialism: infectious disease epidemiology and global health), under joint supervision between Université Paris Cité (MERIT) and the University of Oxford (IDDO), he studies the impact of chemoprevention strategies on the spatio-temporal distribution of Plasmodium falciparum molecular markers associated with resistance to sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine and amodiaquine in West Africa and the Sahel.

He is currently a WHO/TDR Fellow in Clinical Research Leadership at IDDO for 12 months, developing skills in advanced statistics, R programming, geospatial modelling, evidence synthesis, and data governance. His activities include conducting a systematic mapping review, analysing antimalarial consumption data, quantifying antimalarial drug pressure, and disseminating findings through reports, scientific publications, and conferences.
