IDDO promotes the use of shared data to generate new evidence that improves health and understanding of the diseases we focus on. Researchers can access data by making a request to the governance mechanism selected by the research community that generate the data. Details of how to make a request are available on the pages of each research theme.
We are currently building a comprehensive research theme to host and share data on Ebola virus disease. The technical, governance and ethical framework of the research theme will ensure the protection of the rights and privacy of the people and communities from where the data originated.
An independent Data Access Committee (DAC) will be appointed to make objective decisions regarding access to VL data held by IDDO. Members of the Committee will be nominated by the VL research community, and will be responsible for establishing the terms and conditions for data access in consultation with data contributors.
