Professor of Pharmaceutical Analysis and Regulatory Affairs

Professor Sultan Suleman, a pharmacist by profession, holds a PhD degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from University of Ghent (Belgium) which he received in February 2016. Currently, he is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Analysis and Regulatory Affairs at School of Pharmacy, Jimma University (JU). He has published more than 70 articles (the majority of which are on medicines quality) in peer reviewed journals.

Professor Sultan has initiated and established a number of post-graduate programs at school of pharmacy of JU in partnership with national and international collaborators. He developed a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences doctoral program at JU, and he has supervised more than 20 MSc students of various disciplines. He is currently (co)supervising nine PhD students.

Professor Sultan has established a state-of-the-art QC/QA lab: JU Laboratory of Drug Quality (JuLaDQ), which contributes to improved access to quality-assured medicines in Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa.  He has been involved in various national and international scientific committees, technical working groups, and forums.

Professor Sultan Suleman is currently serving as a Director for Research and Grants at JU, Ethiopia.
