VL Surveyor

Discover the first interactive online tool that displays the details of visceral leishmaniasis (VL) and post-kala-azar dermal leishmaniasis (PKDL) clinical trials across geographic locations and time.

The VL Surveyor is an online interactive map that summarises VL and PKDL clinical trials across the world. Currently displaying 196 trials from 1980-2022, the tool provides a clear and standardised visualisation of VL and PKDL clinical trials to date to inform key international, regional and national monitoring strategies, and future studies.

The data included in the surveyor are derived from the living systematic review of VL clinical trials, and the systematic review of PKDL clinical studies

The VL Surveyor:

  • Contains summary data from 196 clinical trials registered and/or published since 1983 representing over 35,000 patients
  • Allows you to perform custom searches of a large number of studies and view summary results
  • Enables you to filter results by country, time range and drug(s).
