With hundreds of millions of people given medicines for these conditions annually, there is a need to ensure the continuing effectiveness of treatments and to understand the drivers of variation in treatment efficacy.

The schistosomiasis and soil-transmitted helminthiases (STHs) research theme aims to pool and make available Individual Patient Data (IPD) from all available studies to address knowledge gaps and improve treatment outcomes for people affected by these diseases.

By amalgamating and standardising available IPD, the utility of existing resources can be maximised to address priority questions in the treatment of schistosomiasis and STHs, to create a framework to prospectively assemble future studies, to guide optimal data collection and make research progress more efficient.
